Following a recent restructure, Waltham Forest are looking to recruit to several senior roles to join the team. These are significant roles for the Council, and we are keen to attract people to act as trusted advisors and critical friends for stakeholders, challenging thinking and influencing service delivery.
The two Finance Business Partners for Housing will work closely with the Housing directorate, supporting areas including development programmes and maintenance, providing financial advice and challenge. The roles will also contribute to the development of the HRA business plan and building models and performing options appraisals.
The Finance Business Partner for Place / NED will work closely with stakeholders across the directorates providing financial advice and challenge to help every community to be and feel safe, create opportunities for residents to use their voice and shape their communities as well as keeping streets, green spaces and high-streets clean, attractive and welcoming. They will play a key role in driving through service transformation.
The Finance Business Partner for Stronger Communities/ Resources/ Chief Executive will provide a business partnering service ensuring stakeholders have the financial information to make informed decisions. They will support the delivery of these key services whilst also supporting the projects including data transformation and helping the Stronger Communities directorate to pull on collective skills, experience to fundamentally change how the Council operates.
The Finance Business Partner for Children will work closely with the stakeholders across the service, providing financial advice and challenge to ensure that they are giving every child every opportunity. This means supporting the Council to ensure children who need support and protection are given it. The role will be responsible for providing a business partnering service for the Children’s Services general fund budget.
Waltham Forest are looking for people who are a qualified accountants, or will be qualified within the next 9 months, with previous experience of providing a business partnering service in a large complex organisation. Exposure to any of the services is desirable, whilst the ability to build relationships and influence and challenge is essential.
