The first phase is almost complete and involved the realigning and increasing the capacity of the Finance department, we are now looking to bed in new refreshed ways of working.
The strategic Finance Lead for Adults and Health will lead a team of 9 business partners to support the financial management and support the setting of the strategic direction for Health and Adult Services, which has recently received an excellent rating by the Care Quality Commission. In this pivotal role, you will lead the council’s annual budget setting and quarterly financial reporting, while providing expert advice on all aspects of strategic finance, planning, and emerging legislation. You will manage vital relationships with departments and external bodies to ensure the council’s financial priorities are met and play a key role in major contract, procurement, and commissioning decisions. Supporting elected members and officers with insightful financial guidance will be an essential part of your role.
You will also oversee the council’s overall funding position and collaborate with strategy teams to deliver and monitor the Medium-Term Financial Strategy (MTFS) as it relates to Adults & Health. As a champion of the Finance Business Partnering model, you will be required to deputise for the Head of Finance when required.
You must be a qualified Accountant with previous experience of providing a finance business partnering service within social care. The ability to influence and build relationships with stakeholders and manage a high performing finance team is also essential.
