The Group Accountant reports to the Principal Group Accountant for Adults and Public Health and will manage a team of 4 supporting providing financial advice and support to senior leaders across the service. The role will be expected to build strong relationships with the service and support decision making using both financial and activity data, with a focus on improving both value for money and service delivery. The role will lead on complex financial planning, business cases, transformation projects and strategic decision-making
To be suitable for the role you will need to be a fully qualified accountant with experience of providing a finance business partnering service within local government or the NHS. The ability to build effective relationships and challenge and influence stakeholders is essential, as is previous management or supervisory experience.
The Council offers a hybrid working environment with the expectation that employees are in the office 3 days per week.
