Help shape the finances behind one of London’s most ambitious capital programmes.
The area of Enfield is going through a period of significant investment and transformation. Over the next decade, the Council expects to manage more than £2billion of investment, spanning major regeneration, new housing, infrastructure, and commercial development.
The region is home to some of London’s major regeneration projects, alongside the redevelopment of industrial areas and a substantial programme to increase the supply of social housing throughout the borough.
The Role:
As the Capital and Investment Accountant, you will sit within a specialist finance team responsible for the financial management of the Council’s capital and investment activity. You will be assessing whether major projects align financially, advising senior stakeholders on investment decisions and ensuring the programmes remain financially viable.
In this role you will:
- Review the existing financial models and appraisals for major capital and investment projects.
- Use Discounted Cash Flow modelling, sensitivity analysis, and option appraisals to assess viability, risk, and potential returns.
- Provide financial advice across major developments and housing investment programmes.
- Take control of your portfolio and become a trusted adviser to budget holders and stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of major projects.
What we are looking for:
To be suitable for this role you will need to be either CCAB qualified accountant, or actively working towards qualification, with a strong grounding in finance and an interest in capital investment and commercial projects. With advanced Excel skills, you will be confident reviewing financial models, have a strong understanding of financial reporting, and be able to communicate complex financial information clearly to a range of stakeholders.
This is an opportunity to influence some of the Council’s most important investment decisions. In return, the Council offer a flexible hybrid working policy of 2 days per week in the office, an excellent pension through the LGPS pension scheme and up to 31 days annual leave.
