FP&A Consultant (AI & Automation)

An innovative research organisation is seeking an experienced FP&A consultant to join the team on an interim basis. This is a unique opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys combining traditional FP&A with technology, automation and AI. Alongside budgeting, forecasting and reporting, you’ll design and build tools that automate manual finance processes, improve data quality and provide better insights for decision-makers.

Working closely with Finance, Data and Technology teams, you’ll play a key role in shaping how financial information is captured, analysed and reported across the organisation.

Key responsibilities are as follows:

• Maintain and enhance financial models, forecasts and budgeting processes.
• Produce insightful management reporting and analysis for senior stakeholders.
  Design and implement automation tools that streamline finance processes and reduce manual reporting.
• Connect data across finance and operational systems to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop financial reporting tools, dashboards and workflow automations.
  Use AI and emerging technologies to improve forecasting, analysis and financial reporting.
• Build and document robust financial models, controls and data structures.
  Support wider finance transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  Work collaboratively across Finance, Technology and operational teams to deliver scalable solutions.

You will:

• Be a fully qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or possess significant FP&A experience.
• Have strong experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling.
• Enjoy using technology to improve finance processes and automate repetitive tasks.
  Have experience working with ERP, general ledger or FP&A systems.
  Be comfortable exploring AI, automation and low-code tools to solve business problems.
• Possess excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Be naturally curious, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Experience with SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau or workflow automation tools would be advantageous but is not essential.

What’s on offer:

• Day rate: £500 – £600per day (depending on experience)
