We are partnering with an international charity, focusing on providing life-changing support to children globally, to recruit a Head of Finance, Accounts and Audit.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced senior finance professional to play a key role in strengthening the charity’s financial reporting, controls and processes. The Head of Finance, Accounts and Audit will lead the financial accounting and controls function, ensuring robust and efficient processes are in place across monthly and quarterly reporting, year-end accounting and audit.
Working closely with the COO and Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, you will provide senior financial accounting expertise and leadership across the organisation. A summary of key duties is as follows:
- Lead and manage the financial accounting function, overseeing two Finance Officers.
- Lead the preparation for year-end and ensure a smooth, well-organised audit process.
- Oversee monthly and quarterly financial reporting, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Simplify and strengthen the organisation’s ledger and VAT return processes.
- Ensure robust financial controls, processes and documentation are in place, with accurate and accessible financial information readily available to the wider team.
- Work closely with the existing finance team and provide senior financial accounting expertise and leadership.
About You
- You will be a qualified accountant with strong experience across financial accounting, reporting and year-end processes.
- You will have experience of leading or managing a financial accounting function, ideally with experience of managing junior team members.
- Previous experience working within the charity sector would be advantageous, with an understanding of restricted and unrestricted funds particularly beneficial.
- You will have strong technical accounting and financial controls experience, with the ability to improve and simplify existing processes.
- You will be proactive, organised and comfortable working to deadlines.
