Head of IT

Our London based Not-for-profit client have an upcoming requirement for a Head of IT to join on a permanent basis.

The organisation is looking for an experienced Head of IT to provide technical leadership and assurance across IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, resilience, AI & automation, technical standards and third-party technology services.

Key skills and experience required for the Head of IT:

• Senior technical IT leadership across infrastructure, cybersecurity, operations, AI and service resilience.
• Owning or leading an organisational AI strategy, roadmap, governance framework or portfolio of AI-enabled initiatives.
• Technically assuring third-party vendors, challenging designs and holding suppliers accountable for delivery and remediation.
• Supporting engineering and delivery teams with infrastructure, environments, deployment, security and operational readiness.
• Developing and communicating technology policies, guidance, training and best practice to non-technical audiences.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, networks, endpoints, identity, cloud and hybrid infrastructure.
• Knowledge of AI technologies, automation, responsible AI principles, governance, security, data, integration and operational considerations.
• Knowledge of security architecture, access management, vulnerability management, incident response, backup, disaster recovery and continuity.
• Knowledge of IT service management, technical governance, risk, audit and operational control frameworks.
• Credible technical judgement, constructive challenge and clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to translate complex technology and AI topics into practical guidance, standards and decisions.
• Ability to balance innovation, security, resilience, delivery pace, cost and user needs.
• Relevant technical qualification or equivalent experience.
• ITIL 4 and security, architecture, cloud, AI or governance certifications are desirable.
