​The finance department will play a central role in supporting this, especially due to the reduction in funding and an increase in demand for services the Council are facing. The team will be trusted partners for the services, developing innovative solutions to minimise any impact to service delivery and ensuring value for money. They will be committed to instilling a culture of continuous improvement to ensure the delivery of positive outcomes for residents and communities

The Finance Business Partners will report into the Head of Finance for their Service and will provide a strategic finance business partnering to Directors and Heads of Service, delivering expert financial advice to support operational and strategic decision-making. As well as leading on budgeting and supporting business cases for their service they will be expected to drive through financial improvements and support service transformation.

The Resources roles with support senior stakeholders across corporate services providing financial and operational data in a clear and concise manner, looking to improve engagement and strength the financial understanding.

The Public Health role will focus on strengthen the relationship with senior stakeholders across Public Health as well as looking to strengthen reporting, with a focus on improving transparency and looking to reengineering and improving processes.

To be suitable for the role you need to be a fully qualified accountant with excellent communications skills and previous experience of building effective partnerships with senior stakeholders, ideally in a local government or NHS setting.

K&C have a policy to appoint at the bottom end of the salary range, unless candidates are currently on a higher salary. Once in post employees would generally move up a spinal point within the grade of the post each year.

The Council offers a hybrid working environment with the expectation that employees are in the office 3 days per week.
