To support this continued transformation, drive through enhanced decision making and ensure value for money we are looking to recruit to this finance role. We are looking for people who want to be trusted finance influencers with innovative ideas and can challenges the status quo, helping deliver better outcomes for Boltons residents

The Principal Group Accountant reports to the Head of Strategic Finance and Accountancy and will play a pivotal role supporting the £100 million worth of regeneration schemes across the town centre including the Crompton Place shopping centre. The role will manage a team of 2 and will provide expert financial leadership and advice to senior leaders and Members across the Council as well as working closely with external partners. The role will be heavily involved with providing financial modelling for all the scheme and supporting with contract negotiations.

To be suitable for the role you will need to be a fully qualified accountant with experience of supporting large capital projects within complex organisation public sector or organisations. The ability to explain complex financial issues to non-finance colleagues is essential.

The Council offers a hybrid working environment with the expectation that employees are in the office 3 days per week.
