Senior Finance Business Partner

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People transforms lives by providing specially trained hearing dogs and support to help deaf people and people with hearing loss gain greater independence, confidence and companionship.

The charity is seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to provide financial insight, strategic advice and constructive challenge across the organisation, with a particular focus on fundraising and income generation.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will partner with teams across the charity, including Individual Giving, Philanthropy, Corporate Partnerships, Community and Events, and Marketing & Communications. You will help budget holders make informed decisions, improve financial performance and maximise the impact of the charity’s resources.

Key responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning for designated teams, providing clear analysis and actionable recommendations.
• Deliver accurate management accounts, financial reporting and variance analysis, highlighting risks and opportunities.
• Support fundraising strategy, investment appraisals and business cases, including financial modelling and return-on-investment analysis.
• Ensure robust financial controls and compliance with charity accounting requirements, fundraising regulations and Gift Aid.
• Improve financial systems, reporting and processes, including the integration of Sage, CRM and fundraising platforms such as JustGiving and Eventbrite.
• Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and budget holders, providing financial guidance and training to non-finance colleagues.
• Oversee and support the development of the Cashier and Legacies Assistant.

About you

You will be an experienced finance professional with strong business partnering skills and a track record of supporting fundraising or income-generating teams. You will be comfortable challenging and influencing stakeholders, translating complex financial information into practical insights and supporting strategic decision-making.

Essential criteria:

• CCAB-qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), or part-qualified with substantial relevant experience.
• Strong management accounting and finance business partnering experience.
• Significant experience supporting fundraising or income-generating functions.
• Proven budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, analytical and financial modelling skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to influence and constructively challenge.
• Advanced Excel skills and a strong eye for detail.
• An understanding of charity finance, the Charities SORP, fundraising regulations and Gift Aid.

Desirable: Experience with Sage or similar finance systems, Power BI, FP&A, and a strong understanding of fundraising income streams and performance metrics.
